Started this set last night, finished it today!
Yay!
Thanks snow for keeping me home!
Anyway, I did this in the Waldorf style, which means they have no faces so you can totally imagine the way they feel. Maybe the Magi are tired?
I think I'm going to give Joseph a beard and then call it done.

And this one isn't stocking. It was a custom diaper. I LOVE the fabric. I'm thinking of buying a bunch more of this tigers fabric in all the colors and just having a crazy tiger stocking!

Trick or Treat Bags
I thought this would be fun to make and I absolutely cannot stand those horrible plastic pumpkins!
Plus, after Halloween these bags can be repurposed for sleepovers, toy storage, Halloween item and costume storage, or even reusable shopping bags if you're feeling spoooooky!
Example of finished bag:
Other fabric options are listed on my website.

Trying my hand at dying yarn
I'm a certified fiber-aholic. It's a real problem.
I don't have the money to indulge my desires for fancy soft and squishy hand-dyed wools as much as I'd like. I tend to splurge once every few months and get something really nice and turn it into a cool item.
So when the opportunity to get undyed Peace Fleece (a wool blend) AND acid dyes at the wholesale cost came my way...well, I splurged!
This afternoon I broke out my supplies and dyed that yarn!
Skein One:
Started out plain
These are the dyes I used: Burnt orange, crimson and brown
First I hand painted it (with a turkey baster!) for good coverage
Then I kettle dyed it on the stovetop (in jars to keep the color separate) to deepen the colors.
Skein Two:
Plain again
Then the dyes: Brown and teal
This one just got dyed on the stovetop
And the final results!

Sweaters...
This one was supposed to be for Elizabeth, but I didn't upsize the pattern enough. GAH! It's Southwest Spectrum 'Adobe' colorway and is probably a size 18 month-2T.
I'll probably list it for sale...
So then I started a sweater of THIS yarn for her(which is acrylic, which is better for a rough and tumble messy girl)...

Hedgehog Collaboration
Go check out this awesome collaboration between Jennifer at Natural Madison and I.
What you get:
A Hedgie hand-painted tee and prefold set. Both have been dyed with real coffee for a natural light tan color, and painted using acrylic-based artist paints.
Prefold is Chinese style DSQ (made by Thirsties) and is 100% unbleached cotton. Infant sized, 12x16", 7-15lbs. Tee is 100% cotton, sized 3-9 months (made by Gerber).
We have also included a copy of the children's book, The Happy Hedgehog, by Marcus Pfister.

Special Guest Artisan!
I'll be a special guest artisan this Friday, June 27 at Madaline Jane on Hyenacart!
I'll be offering an awesome new "Benjamin" pattern soaker in the Paton's Merino colorways Harvest and Paprika.
It's really a nice small to medium sized soaker, gender neutral (I think) and very special since it's the first I made in the new "Benjamin" pattern!
Here it is!
Previews for the stocking are up now at Madaline Jane.

Nursing Pads

My choice of craft activities has definitely skewed toward things that I can use or need!
After weeks of diapers (which I'm still making) this week I've turned to nursing pads!
I made a BUNCH of crocheted wool nursing pads for sale in my store.
Then in an attempt to de-clutter my craft area I started cutting up my fabric scraps (leftover from diaper making) to make cotton flannel nursing pads for myself.
I could not use the wool ones. I have sensitivities to wool, which I'm sure would not make breastfeeding any easier!
Pic of flannel pads coming soon!
